Dr Lerato Mokwatsi is a dedicated Psychiatrist with a deep commitment to guiding patients toward healing and mental wellbeing. With a strong foundation in public healthcare and diverse experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, she brings a holistic and compassionate approach to her private practice.

Established part-time in 2020, Dr Mokwatsi’s practice will operate full-time from September 2025, offering specialised psychiatric care to adults and adolescents. Her areas of focus include depressive disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, and substance-related conditions.

Dr Mokwatsi works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team—including occupational therapists and social workers—to ensure comprehensive care tailored to each individual and their support system. She believes that effective mental health care includes not just the patient, but also the family unit and support groups working together to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Her journey into medicine was inspired by a calling to serve during life’s most vulnerable moments. With several years of experience as a psychiatrist in the public sector, she gained a thorough understanding of complex psychiatric conditions—approaching them from both biological and psychosocial perspectives. While resource limitations in the public health system posed challenges, they also fuelled her determination to build a practice that dedicates more - more time, more attention and more personalised care.

Now in private practice, Dr Mokwatsi is passionate about ongoing clinical development and delivering evidence-based treatment that empowers her patients to not only recover—but to thrive.
